FAQs on processing technology of different types of glass products

  1. Cutting and Punching:

    • Before Tempering: Tempered glass cannot be cut, drilled, or punched once it has undergone the tempering process. Any alteration, such as cutting or drilling, must be done before the glass is tempered.
    • Custom Sizes: If you require tempered glass in specific sizes or shapes, we recommend placing an order specifying your exact dimensions before the glass is tempered. We will handle the cutting and shaping during the manufacturing process.
  2. Safety Considerations:

    • One of the benefits of tempered glass is that if it does break, it shatters into small, blunt pieces instead of sharp shards, reducing the risk of injury. However, because it is processed at high temperatures, any attempt to modify it post-tempering could compromise its structural integrity.
  3. Alternative Options:

    • If you need to modify tempered glass for existing installations, consider using laminated glass or annealed glass, which can be cut or drilled after fabrication. However, these options have different strength and safety characteristics.
  4. Consultation:

    • If you are unsure about your project requirements, please feel free to consult with our team. We can help determine the best type of glass for your needs and guide you through the ordering process.
